How it works
Fishball clips directly over your iPhone via a secure locking mechanism. From there, a proprietary, patent-pending system of fisheye lenses and mirrors enables your phone’s native camera to capture in true 360 degrees. The user simply launches the free Fishball App to begin recording photos and videos as usual. Fishball Inc. was founded by three UC Berkeley Haas MBA’s, Yuriy Pryadko, Sora Elcan, and Tony Sgroi. The group is taking to Indiegogo to fund the production of the Fishball. If the funding, development, and manufacturing are successful, the startup plans to ship by June 2018. Says founder Yuriy Pryadko, “The hassle and price of standalone 360° cameras are big barriers to this extremely beneficial technology. We realized we could harness the power of our incredible iPhone cameras and create the simplest, most accessible solution out there using optics, rather than electronics...360° content is the ultimate way to relive a memory, whether the moment is yours or from someone you love.” While most 360 cameras are quite pricey, the Fishball starts at $39 on Indiegogo, with an expected retail price of $99 Website: https://www.fishball.us/igg
