Kodak Ektra returns as a Phone

Kodak’s 1940s Ektra brand name returns for users that lean more to the camera side of mobile phones. It is named after its 1941 rangefinder and the 1970 range. The Ektra was Kodak's (and America's) only and last attempt to produce the finest system 35 camera. It was amazingly innovative and feature laden, actually outshining the contemporary Leica and Contax in terms of features. The back leather finish mimicks the look and feel of its older lineage. A 21-megapixel Sony sensor (IMX230) actuallyhandles image capture duties. This is of course not the first try by Kodak dabbling in the mobile phone world, the IM5, aimed at shutterbugs, was Kodak's not so successful attempt at making camera phones. These IM5 as well as the Ektra are actually made by Bullitt for Kodak. The camera app has a digital "Scene Selection Dial" that lets you choose different shooting modes. Manual, Landscape, Sports and Macro. The 21-megapixel fast focus camera sensor has a f2.0 aperture, and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus PDAF and f2.2 aperture. Bullitt also made Snapseed the default photo-editing app, a software originally created to mimick like they were taken in the 1800s is to apply a vintage filter. With the advent of Instagram, there’s certainly no shortage of ways to make your photos look old-timey. For your photos to look like they were taken using the Kodak No. 1, you’ll need to apply a sepia filter. With the cross-platform free photo-editing app Snapseed (which you can use on Android, iOS or even in your Chrome browser) the first thing you’ll want to do is apply the black and white filter. Introduced in 1941, it found no market when re-introduced in 1948 at the princely sum of $700. But in its current incarnation, it costs $550 for those interested in taking a trip down memory lane.
