Potrait Mode beta released for iPhone 7+
The guys at 9TO5Mac posted this video on Apple's iOS 10.1 Beta 4 Potrait Mode. Portrait mode is a feature that was demonstrated at Apple’s keynote earlier this month, but the major new feature wasn’t ready for the iPhone 7 Plus launch. Portrait Mode still isn’t in the release versions of iOS, but developer and public betas released last month include a beta version of the feature which works well already. Potrait Mode applies a DSLR-like blur effect over photos using the dual lens system available on the iPhone 7 Plus giving a depth of field effect. As of this writing, iOS 10.1 beta 4 is available to developers who have registered. It is also available for public beta testers. Other than the new Portrait mode, there were a few other changes on the first beta such as a new toggle setting called Auto-Play Message Effects, which can be found on the Accessibility section in settings. The feature is being likened to Reduce Motion, which disables Messages bubble and screen effects. Other developer release notes reveal that iOS 10.1 has added a fix for motion handling. Based on this new feature, developers are able to get access to barometric pressure data for the iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, and iPad Air 2.
