Garmin VIRB Ultra 30: 4K action cam with voice control
This is Garmin's answer to the GoPro Hero 5, of which the specs are said to rival that of the new GoPro Hero 5 that is yet to be launched. In fact the new redesigned VIRB looks a lot like the GoPro. The older VIRBs had a very distinctive design which I preferred. The VIRB Ultra 30, is a waterproof action camera that shoots Ultra HD footage at 4K/30fps. It is has a small form factor and is lightweight, the VIRB Ultra 30 is rugged and made for adventure with features for users to customise and relive their action footage. Thanks to its high tech sensors and GPS, the action camera automatically gathers meaningful G-Metrix™ data to show how "adventurous: users can get. The VIRB Ultra 30 has a suite of exclusive features unmatched by any other action camera on the market. This includes voice control, an intuitive LCD color touchscreen, one-touch live streaming, 3-axis image stabilisation, and more. The voice control is something new. Users can now speak commands to the action camera, such as “OK Garmin, start recording,” or “OK Garmin, remember that,” and so on rather than grappling physically with buttons. The free Garmin VIRB app allows users to easily share high-definition VIRB Ultra 30 videos in real-time by streaming3 live to YouTube™, and upload video adventures on social media sites such as Facebook and Garmin Connect™ Share. Additionally, the VIRB app transforms smartphones or tablets into Wi-Fi® remote controls for the action camera. The feature-rich Garmin VIRB® Edit is a desktop editing software that can auto-create videos automatically highlighting the best moments captured by the VIRB Ultra 30. The VIRB Ultra 30 ships with a free waterproof case and is now available globally with a suggested retail price of $499.99. For more information, visit garmin.com/virb. Product video:
